Derya is a German voice talent and actress. From 2019 to 2023, she studied acting at the Film University Konrad Wolf in Babelsberg, but she has been in front of the camera and microphone regularly since childhood. She can be seen and heard in films and series for streaming, TV, and cinema – most recently in the lead role of "Mila" in the German adaptation "Euphorie," based on the successful US series "Euphoria." In doing so, she follows in the footsteps of Zendaya, who portrayed the role in the original. Even as a little whirlwind, Derya sat at the piano at the age of five, loved kickboxing, was an enthusiastic soccer player – and stepped into a dubbing studio for the first time at six. After landing various small and large roles, she was cast in her first leading roles at the age of eight. One of her first major dubbing roles for cinema was voicing Dana Gaier’s character Edith in "Despicable Me." Other roles followed in "The Hunger Games," "Tomboy," "Slender Man," "Us," "Instant Family," "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," "Suicide Squad," and "Ocean’s 8." Her voice has also shaped countless TV series, including "Grey’s Anatomy," "FBI," "Criminal Minds," and many more. Her most recent leading roles include "Doubt" in "Inside Out 2" and Cailee Spaeny as Rain Carradine in the upcoming feature film "Alien: Romulus." She has also regularly dubbed Isabela Merced, Jenna Ortega, Storm Reid, and Alyvia Alyn Lind. What excites her most are roles where she can fully immerse herself and give characters a unique personality. She has a rather raspy, deeper, youthful voice and is typically cast for characters between the ages of 15 and 25. And then there are video games and audio dramas, where Derya is also a familiar voice. She is open to working in commercials and corporate films as well, eager to lend her distinctive voice to brands and stories. Last but not least, thanks to her half-Turkish heritage, Derya speaks fluent Turkish with a slight German accent.
