Detlef Bierstedt is George Clooney. What else? It all started in 1995 with Emergency Room – and from then on, he became the German voice of Clooney in almost every episode and film. But that’s not all: he has also frequently lent his voice to Bill Pullman, John C. Reilly, Jonathan Frakes, Jason Alexander, and Stellan Skarsgård. With over 2,000 roles to his name, Detlef Bierstedt is one of Germany’s most prolific voice actors. Besides dubbing, he has also been active as an actor, performing on stages such as the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam and the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin. He has appeared in film and TV as well – for example in series like Drei Damen vom Grill, Alarm für Cobra 11, and Praxis Bülowbogen. In 2010, he played the role of Kimmo Kankunnen in Anna und die Liebe. Although he has retired from active dubbing, he continues to work as a voice artist for audiobooks, audio dramas, documentaries, and commercials – his voice remains unmistakably present.
