Johannes is a German voice talent and actor. What once were paint and canvas for him have become voice and words: he creates images in the mind without ever lifting a brush. His voice can be heard in more than 400 audiobooks, many of them award-winning – from the Hörkules as Most Popular Narrator of the Year to multiple Gold and Platinum records and top placements on audiobook bestseller lists. He is also present in advertising campaigns, corporate films, documentaries, radio plays and trailers. His artistic roots lie in scenic design: after training as a theatre painter, he discovered that it wasn’t only the visual world that fascinated him, but also performance and language. He went on to attend the Krauss Acting School in Vienna, spent two years performing on Viennese stages, and moved to the Schauspielhaus Chemnitz after the fall of the Berlin Wall – right into a theatre landscape in a state of creative upheaval. He also made a name for himself on screen, including five years in the leading role of Dr. Kreutzer in the ARD series In aller Freundschaft, as well as appearances in numerous crime dramas – sometimes as investigator, sometimes as antagonist. These experiences continue to shape his work at the microphone: with imagination and instinct, Johannes creates worlds that draw listeners in immediately. When he’s not in the studio, he’s on the road with live readings – up close, engaging and with the same narrative power that makes his audiobooks so outstanding. Every story he tells becomes a small adventure.
