Maria is a Brazilian Portuguese voice talent whose voice has taken her across the globe – from Brazil to Barcelona, where she has been living and working since 2006. From here, she records commercials, corporate content, dubbing, podcasts, and more in Brazilian Portuguese and International English for clients worldwide. 2021 marked a special milestone for Maria: she won the SOVAS Voice Arts Award for Best Portuguese Voiceover in E-Learning and was also nominated for Best Commercial and Best Corporate. When she’s not in the studio, Maria performs improv theatre in English with the Barcelona Improv Group, a creative community for playing, experimenting, connecting, and practicing presence and acting skills. To stay connected to her Brazilian roots, she also plays tamborim in a percussion group that regularly performs on the streets of Barcelona. She is also the creator, director, and host of SPARK, a community event in Barcelona designed to inspire and connect people through creativity and shared experiences. Curiosity and passion drive everything she does. “I’m interested in so many things I’d need 10 lives to live them all!” Maria says, sharing her love for physics, Shakespeare (Hamlet is her favourite), languages, and all forms of human expression. What truly makes her heart sing is her son, her little sunshine, born in 2012. Although Barcelona is now her home, Maria travels to Brazil every year to recharge with family and friends – fun fact: she can even hear her own voice on Iberia flights to Brazil (and of course, everyone else does too).
