Markus is a German voice talent and actor. He moves effortlessly between stage, microphone, and camera – bringing a natural ease to every medium he works in. His voice carries calm and strength, captivating without ever being loud, and bringing stories to life with depth and warmth. Whether in commercials, dubbing, audio drama, or TV narration, Markus has a rare ability to give every role nuance and color. Since 2015, he has been the official commentary voice of “Germany’s Next Superstar (Deutschland sucht den Superstar)“ and is also known as the German voice of Edward Snowden. After graduating from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, he joined the Burgtheater Vienna – working closely with renowned directors such as Einar Schleef, Claus Peymann, and Matthias Hartmann. His stage career then took him across the German-speaking theater scene – from the Berliner Ensemble to Düsseldorf, Bochum, Trier, Aachen, Gießen, Krefeld, and finally Wuppertal. Markus has also appeared in numerous film and television productions – most recently as Detective Dirk Hohnert in “Alles was zählt“ and in David Cronenberg’s “A Dangerous Method”. Alongside his artistic work, he teaches acting at the Arturo Drama School in Cologne, sharing his passion for precision, expression, and authenticity – the same qualities that define his voice.
