Tobias Meister is one of Germany’s most renowned voice talents – and the established German voice of Hollywood icons such as Brad Pitt, Kiefer Sutherland, Gary Sinise, Sean Penn, Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker, and Ice Cube. In 2008, he received the German Dubbing Award for his performance as Forest Whitaker in The Last King of Scotland. Born in Cologne, he first appeared on stage at the age of five as a child actor. He later became well-known to German audiences as Paul Friese in the ZDF family series Unser Charly and as Dr. Erich Dinter in Ein Heim für Tiere.
Beyond acting, Tobias Meister has shaped the German dubbing industry for decades – not only as a voice talent, but also as a dialogue writer and dubbing director. He was responsible for the German versions of numerous international blockbusters, including Ghost, Independence Day, Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and several films from the X-Menseries. In addition, he is a sought-after voice for documentaries (including ZDF productions), commercials, image films, audio plays, and audiobooks.
