Michael is a Czech voice talent, musical performer, and author. Raised in a German-Czech household near Karlsbad, he discovered his passion for the stage early on and began dancing at the age of 17. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he moved to Berlin to study “Musical & Show” at the HdK. Since the late 1990s, he has performed on renowned German-speaking stages, including the Theater des Westens, Schauspielhaus Wien, and the Bad Hersfeld Festival. Michael’s voice career began almost by chance: an audio guide needed a Czech narrator, and, as luck would have it, he was the one to take on the role. Since then, his voice has been heard not only in audio guides but also in corporate films, commercials, audiobooks, and documentaries. His work can also be experienced in iconic locations such as the Albertina in Vienna, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, or in contributions for the German Foreign Office. His path into dubbing also came via a happy accident: a small role required a German-speaking voice with a Czech accent – and Michael was there again. Since then, he has appeared in film and TV productions, often as the distinctive voice of Eastern European characters. He voiced “Pavel” in Mozart in the Jungle and played the lead role of Antonin Nahodil in the Austrian film Deckname Holec. Always open to new creative paths, Michael also writes lyrics for musicals. His first published piece was the stage adaptation of Kohlhiesels Töchter. “I’m looking forward to the next happy accident,” says Michael – and one can only wonder where his voice will take him next.
